Gas Grills

There are several advantages available to gas grills not available to charcoal or wood a grill or smokers. There are two types of gas grills.

Convenience is a primary feature that people that use a gas grill have. Easy to start, most gas grills will have a starter to spark the grill. They reach and maintain the desired cooking temperature. And of course if it is easy to start it is easy to shut down.

What is the difference between propane and natural gas grills?

With propane you will notice there is a gas cannister underneath or on the side of the grill. Natural gas grills is where the gas is delivered from the natural gas company, like what heats the hot water heater. Propane is under a higher pressure and only needs small orifices on the burner jets. Natural gas is under a lot less pressure and needs a larger orifice to reach the desired temperature. If you have an old grill and notice some parts of your grill do not heat equally then you may want to look into replacing those orifices. Most manufacturers do offer replacements some even have adjustable orifices.

If you want the most control over the heat of your grill a two or three gas burner grill is what you ware looking for.

Ah the food grids, one of the most apparently important features. It covers the cooking area just above the burners. Food grids are usually made of steel but it isn’t uncommon steel plate or bars covered with ceramic. A sure sign of a telling if the company that makes your grill is good is if it comes with  one or two secondary grids. These set on top of your primary grid or attach to the hood.

Starter buttons or gas ignition buttons. These are nutritious for going out. It isn’t necessarily a bad thing its just a fact they get used and will go out. Just as a lighter may wear down its flint. You will need to replace the piece that makes the spark.

Depending where you keep your grill you may want to pay some attention to getting a grill cover. The vinyl covers help protect your grill from weather. Heat-resistant covers usually offered by manufacturers allow you to cover your grill as soon as you are done with it. With a traditional cover you will have to come back later after it has cooled off and cover it up.

The outside shelving to me is very important. They say you are paying more for this. But who cares you will use it so often its worth it. The most important thing here is to make sure the shelving gives you enough space to keep your cooking utensils or final step of prepping your food.

There are some important features you should be aware of when making a purchase. To properly broil a steak you have to deliver a minimum of 30M BTU's. But even with 30M you will have to close the lid to the grill and allow it to reach 700 degrees fairenheit before placing the steak on the grill.
