Wood Grills

The types of wood grills vary from size to functionality.

Starting with where you get your grill is important. If you buya grill from grocery store or a convenient store you most likely will be getting a lesser quality grill. If you want a professional grill that can last you years and is capable of grilling a lot of meat then you should buy it from the internet or a store with a wide selection like Costco. It is common to see the larger grills with a adjustable cooking surface which you raise or lower to change the cooking temperatures.

A rule of thumb in picking a grill is the larger the grill the easier it is to control the heat source. And of course how much meat you can grill.

This is the biggest difference in preparing a wood grill to a propane grill. That time it takes to prepare it and start it up. Of course most people will say the time is well spent to add the extra flavor. When preparing a wood grill its best practiced to clean the grill out  Some people fire up the grill and sear it to clean it. To prevent the meat from sticking to your grill, after the grill has reached a desired temperature coat the grill with cooking oil.

Ah and of course we have different types of wood. This is based purely on preference. No one can tell you what you like.

There are some important features you should be aware of when making a purchase. To properly broil a steak you have to deliver a minimum of 30M BTU's. But even with 30M you will have to close the lid to the grill and allow it to reach 700 degrees fairenheit before placing the steak on the grill.
